Sarah Nasseri
Sara Nasseri is an associate at FortneyScott and focuses her practice on advising clients on a range of work-place related matters. Prior to becoming a full-time associate, Ms. Nasseri was an extern at the firm, where she worked on various projects and conducted research on a number of current employment-related topics, including the effects of immigration law on employers and arbitration agreements in the employment context.
Ms. Nasseri also focuses much of her practice on assisting clients with internationally-related issues, specifically in counseling foreign-based clients on complying with U.S. workplace and business laws, as well as assisting U.S. employers in expanding outside the U.S.
Ms. Nasseri has worked together with co-founder Ms. Jacqueline Scott on different international-focused projects, including data privacy and internal investigations. Specifically, Ms. Nasseri has looked into various legislation within the U.S. and across Europe related to work-place internal investigations, problems faced by external lawyers when conducting an internal investigation, and data privacy issues.
Before joining FortneyScott, Ms. Nasseri was an Associate Attorney for an employment defense firm in California, where she represented insurance carriers, self-insured employers and public entities in all aspects of workers’ compensation. Following her work there and prior to her move to D.C., Ms. Nasseri was selected to the Super Lawyers 2018 Southern California Rising Stars List.
Ms. Nasseri received her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School in Los Angeles, where she was a participant of the Philip C. Jessup International Law Moot Court Competition. She also obtained a Master of Laws degree, with distinction, from Georgetown University Law Center focused on International Business and Economic Law, with a certificate in International Human Rights, where she was also on the Dean’s List and a recipient of a CALI Award in International Arbitration. Ms. Nasseri is fluent in written and spoken Farsi, and conversational in Spanish and French.
